StepPlan reads steps, walking distance, and active energy from Apple Health only after permission. This information supports on-device progress, reports, action plans, and badges. After sign-in, daily summaries may be stored by the developer for continuity and anonymous rankings. Health data is not used for advertising or marketing and is not sold. Regular AI chat does not include Apple Health values. If the user chooses contextual AI analysis, the app previews the activity data prepared for that request and asks for separate permission before first use. After authorization, the listed steps, goal, trend, streak, or walking-plan summary is sent through the developer's server to DeepSeek with the user's question.
A guest device identifier and authentication token are stored in Keychain. Nickname, daily summaries, check-ins, badges, and anonymous-ranking preference may be stored by the developer for app functionality. Local settings and AI chat history remain on the device until cleared, sign-out, or account deletion. Server account data remains until the user deletes the account in the app.
For first-party product analytics, StepPlan creates a random app-specific installation identifier in Keychain and sends it with an app-active signal, app version/build, and runtime environment to the developer's server. These fields measure activated installations, daily active installations, and D1/D7 retention. The identifier may accompany authenticated requests but is not used for advertising, cross-app tracking, or to collect page names, taps, prompts, HealthKit values, photos, or location.
After explicit consent, regular chat sends only text the user actively submits through the developer's server to DeepSeek, operated by Hangzhou DeepSeek Artificial Intelligence Co., Ltd., to generate a response. Contextual AI analysis previews the activity data before every request and is protected by a separate permission. When authorized, the listed activity summary is included with the question. StepPlan does not attach the user's name, Apple ID, device identifier, or precise location. Users can revoke AI permission and clear local AI chat from Me > Privacy, manage Health access in system Settings, and delete their StepPlan server account and associated data from Me. For questions, use the developer contact and support information on the App Store product page.
